In the second half of 2005, Enel’s power generation and distribution companies in Colombia consolidated the Enel Colombia Foundation.
The initiative, born with the goal of integrating and empowering social management programs, reaffirms the company’s human commitment in the country.
In September 2009, the Social Management Policy was published, defining two primary areas of action: education and local development.
This comprises Technical Training Programs and the Program for Flexible Models and Education Quality. Both initiatives seek to contribute to communities’ development, providing people with more life skills and promoting the rational usage of natural resources and clean power.
These programs aim to contribute to economic and social development in the areas of influence of Enel companies in Colombia, as well as to create spaces for collaboration between local communities and authorities. Local development comprises Organizational Enhancement and Community Management Programs, Local Government Capacity Building, Production Projects and Local Alliances.
