Enel Américas participates in power generation through Enel Brasil and its subsidiaries Enel Green Power Cachoeira Dourada and Enel Generación Fortaleza. These two plants - one hydroelectric and the other thermoelectric - generate a total of 987 MW, equivalent to 0.7% of power generation in the Brazilian national grid.
The Group’s electricity generation in Brazil reached 4,399 GWh, 47% of which was hydroelectric. This represented 0.8% of the total electricity generated in the country. Physical sales reached 6,541 GWh or approximately 1.4% of all energy sold in the Brazilian system.
Other generation companies connected to the Brazilian grid are CHESF, Furnas, Cemig, Electronorte, Cesp, Copel, Eletrobras and Eletropaulo.
