·         The operation aligns with the Group's commitment to zero emissions and to developing new renewable projects.

·         Once finalized, Enel Brasil will reach 100% of its installed renewable generation capacity.

Santiago, June 10, 2022– Enel Américas informed the market today that its subsidiary, Enel Brasil, has signed the purchase agreement selling 100% of the Central Geradora Térmica Fortaleza (CGTF) to Eneva. The combined cycle plant in the State of Ceará will sell 467 million Brazilian reais (around 96 million dollars). In addition to this amount, the parties have agreed to a payment mechanism based on Termofortaleza's commercial performance in the future that could amount to up to 97 million reais (about US$20 million).

The transaction is in line with Enel Group's commitment to zero emissions by 2040 and its decarbonization strategy to triple its global renewable capacity by 2030. Enel is globally replacing its thermal fleet with new renewable power and leveraging the hybridization of renewables with storage solutions.

"We are accelerating the decarbonization of our energy mix, and, after the completion of this operation, the installed generation capacity in Brazil will become 100% renewable. We will continue to invest in the country's renewable market, developing and managing new solar, wind, and hybrid power plants through Enel Green Power Brazil," explained Maurizio Bezzeccheri, CEO of Enel Americas and head of the Enel Group for Latin America.

We expect to close the sale in 2022's third quarter, subject to certain conditions precedent, including approval by Enel Brasil, the Board of Directors of its shareholders, and the Brazilian antitrust authority CADE.

CGTF is part of the Industrial and Port Complex of Pecém, located in a strategic region for the growth of the State of Ceará. The plant produces energy in a combined cycle of gas and steam. It has a generation capacity of 327 MW and has a high voltage transmission line (230kV) of 1.2 kilometers.

In Brazil, Enel Group has a total installed renewable capacity of 4.7 GW, of which more than 2.2 GW is wind energy, 1.2 GW of solar energy, and 1.3 GW of hydroelectric energy.
