Santiago, September 2, 2019 – Enel Américas announces the successful conclusion of its capital increase for a total of 3 billion dollars, making it the largest capital increase ever in the history of Chile and the largest in Latin America during the last 5 years. This operation was decided upon at the Enel Américas Extraordinary Shareholders’ Meeting held on April 30, 2019.
Maurizio Bezzeccheri, CEO of Enel Américas and Head of Latin America for the Enel Group, affirmed: “We are very pleased with the great support received from our investors, as it reflects their full confidence in the company’s strategy. We want to thank all of our shareholders for this display of trust. The capital increase will help us bolster the company’s capital structure and create space for new growth.”
The capital increase was offered preferentially to the company’s existing shareholders. During the two preferential offer periods, a total of 18,633,669,520 shares were subscribed and paid, representing 99.49% of all shares issued for the capital increase and a total amount of approximately US$ 3,020,670,890, thus fulfilling the amount approved at the Extraordinary Shareholders’ Meeting.
