Enel Américas obtains again Bronze Class in The Sustainability Yearbook of S&P Global

  • The company, which also received this recognition last year, stood out among the 7,000 companies evaluated for its sustainability performance.

 

Santiago, February 8, 2021. Enel Américas was confirmed in The Sustainability Yearbook 2021, an annual study that compares listed companies' sustainability performance based on demanding and competitive criteria. The Yearbook included Enel Chile within the Bronze Class for its excellent performance, ranging between 5% and 10% of its industry's most sustainable companies worldwide.

Maurizio Bezzeccheri, General Manager of Enel Americas and Director of the Enel Group for Latin America, said: "This acknowledges the work we have carried out putting sustainability at the center of our business. Since 2004, the Sustainability Yearbook has showcased the world's largest companies' performance in each industry. The Sustainability Yearbook 2021 aims to distinguish companies that have demonstrated their strengths in this area. Overall scores of evaluated companies' are published on the Yearbook's website.

During 2020 Enel Américas was confirmed in: the FTSE4Good Emerging Index; Vigeo Eiris Best Emerging Markets ranking; Dow Jones Sustainability Index Chile;  Dow Jones Sustainability Emerging Markets Index, and the Dow Jones Sustainability MILA Pacific Alliance Index. It was also the only electricity company included in the new S&P IPSA ESG Tilted index of the Santiago Stock Exchange.

Enel Américas is the largest private electricity company in South America with more than 11 GW of installed capacity and 27 million customers. It is involved in the generation, distribution, and transmission of electricity in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, and Peru. Last December, its shareholders approved a merger to incorporate Enel Green Power's renewable generation assets in Central and South America (except Chile).
