Within the framework of constructive, ecological and solidary development, Enel Argentina is carrying out the Eco Ladrillos program, whose purpose is collaboration in respect to the construction of living spaces for persons in social risk.
The program includes workshops and activities addressed to the employees, whose aim is to increase environmental awareness and cultural change.
The idea is to be able to generate multiplying agents towards ecological brick manufacturing, which are made starting from the reuse of plastic bottles and the reduction of polymer waste.
Additionally, there is the “Building naturally together” volunteer activity, where a group of workers experimented with the bio-construction of the foundations of a wall for the first school hall – workshop in a rural zone of the company’s concession area. Among the tasks, the volunteers had to dig trenches, dig holes for the foundations, install columns, prepare adobe for coating the walls and building them.
The objective of this school hall – workshop is to offer free lectures on sustainable construction, recycling and composting. The activity is 100% sustainable, since company leftover materials and ecological bricks are used in it.
The workers deliver these ecological bricks daily, which are collected with the aim of continuing with these constructions in solidarity.
These ecological and Open Power initiatives partly seek closer relations with communities in order for the joint work to render results, which are inspiring for all those involved, and for this work to improve different aspects of their lives.
Enel strives towards uniting people, communities and generating links between the company and its users.
